New Years Day Update From Vietnam

Heading south today to Hoi An (central coast)...Had an interesting nap before I headed out for New Year's Eve last night...heard pounding on the door at around 9:30 pm and was the Vietnamese Police doing a random search of my hotel room...was half awake and two men in green uniforms came in while I was still under my sheets taking a snooze...took a quick look around and looked at me...then left...they control the bars/clubs here as well....will come into bars around midnight and close them down or demand money from bar owners and let them stay open...

Still stunned by the events I occasionally see on CNN which is somewhat limited here...Vietnamese don't seem too concerned because none of their citizens were affected. Business as usual here...Every time I get a chance to see CNN....just can't believe it...attaching more pics below from...Halong Bay, and scenes from New Years Eve in Hanoi, Vietnam........Tony
