Tony's Final Days In Asia
Jan 26th...left Cambodia about 4 days ago and closing out the final leg of Asia traveling in Laos....photos are from travels in Cambodia....
Summing it all up really enjoyed Cambodia....All the temples at Angkor Wat really left an impression on me....Angkor is supposedly the largest religious building in the world, the Bayon is supposedly the most complex and enigmatic religious structure in the world with its 216 gargantuan faces carved in the walls staring down at you, and Ta Prohm was popular because of Anjolina Jolie in 'tomb raider'...really have never been too interested in temples but these were nothing short of amazing....timeless in that it was easy to imagine what it was like several hundred/thousands of years ago when these were fully functional thriving cities and universities...first day felt a bit like Disneyland with all the tourists, but got into just relaxing and chillin when there were no crowds and soaking the whole thing in and that's when your mind just starts to wonder...was going to leave after only a day but had some friends I met in Vietnam making their way up from Phnom Penh, and ended up staying 5-6 days....kept hearing from travelers how the food was not as good as in Vietnam but really enjoyed Siem Reap; cool nightlife/good restaurants, just chillin in the ruins watching the sunset, and riding bicycles around Angkor Wat. ....Tony
