March 18, 2005 - Sydney Area & Taronga Zoo
We have now been in the Sydney area for the past week. Below is a mix of pictures for your viewing pleasure. We have been staying with our friend Bianca at Manly Beach which is just a 15 minute Ferry ride to Down Town Sydney. The surf has not been the greatest lately so we have been doing some of the tourist things. In a few days we will continue our journey south to Bells Beach which is a world class wave.
In the pictures below, you will see us hanging out with another family. About 3 years Eddie was in Costa Rica surfing and he met the Carpenter family (Gale - Dad; Julie - Mom; Chance - Son) which live on the Big Island of Hawaii. Chance at that point was only 13 years old. Today Chance is 16 years old and 6-4 in height. Let's just say that he has grown a little since Costa Rica. There must be something in the water on the Big Island???? They were aware that we would be in Australia at the same time so we made it a point to hook up. Chance also brought his friend Kelly on the trip. We all got together a few days and did the tourist thing! One of the high-lights I must say was the Taronga Zoo. It is located in Sydney on the waters edge with a spectacular view of the city, not to mention all of the amazing animals. I know you guys (Carpenter Family) will be reading this soon, so I just wanted to say it was great seeing all of you. We had a great time hanging out and hope to see you later this summer in Bali! If not, we'll see you in Hawaii soon! The journey continues..................
