April 8th, 2005 Innes National Park, South Australia
After a few days in Adelaide, we decided to pack it up and head south west down the Yorke Peninsula to Innes National Park in search of waves. Our German friends (Nici, Yvi, & Connie) van broke down and was going to be in the shop for several days for some major repairs. So they packed up a came along with us on the road trip. On our way down, we stopped at one of the local Winery's (Barrosa) for some wine tasting. The best part about it was that all of the tastings were free! Let's just say that we tried everything in the house and even bought a few bottles for later. The Vineyard also had an incredible garden which you will see in the pictures below. We all had a great time camping in the Innes National Park. One of the nights when we got back to camp we came across a Kangaroo snooping around our tents. After having a great week, it was time to pack it up and head back to Adelaide. We did manage to celebrate Nici’s birthday in Adelaide which was a blast! The mold was definitely broken after they made these three girls! Just full of life and lots of fun to be around! Hopefully we will cross paths again soon somewhere down the road. If you three are reading this, we miss having you around and please travel safe!
As far as the surf, we did manage to catch a few waves at a spot called
West Cape (located in the National Park). The beach was wide open
and absolutely
beautiful with turquoise blue water. The wave would jack up and throw some
nice barrels. For the most part, you'd drop in a get barreled and eventually
get dumped on. We were both starving for some surf, so we didn't get any
pictures of us surfing it. We did get a few picks that were taken
after we surfed that
will give you an idea. Our time in Australia is coming to an end soon! The
journey continues.............
