April 12, 2005 - Bells Beach & Winkipop's
After a 9 hour all night rally, we pulled in to a very fun looking chest-head high+ Bells/Winkipop line up with only 3 guys out.....Have been waiting so long (seeing magazine pics of these places for years) to surf these spots, and got a good 6 hour fix after surfing from noon til dark at Winkipop....really fun, long right hand point breaks......afterwards, was starving and the Bell Street Cafe crew (Chris and Jason) really took care of me with and oversized steak sandwich, fish and chips to fill me up....Got really fun overhead surf the next two days but the local crew must have gotten word of some swell because there were several more guys in the line up, but still tons of waves.....
Woke up Thursday (4th day) to a blown out windy, messy slop and stopped in at the local Quiksilver shop to have a look......Tony ended up trading in his 6'4'' AND his 6'6" Spyder pintail (difficulty parting with this one. Have surfed all over with this stick- J-Bay, Mentawais, Central Am., and Australia ).....but Richie, the store manager, lined him up with some good deals and Tony ended up trading in his quiver and walking out with two new Quiksilver boards- 7"0" pintail and 6'3" swallow tail......so stooooked to have a new quiver..........
