May 18th, 2005 - Bridal Falls, New Zealand

After today’s morning surf session, we decided to take a drive to a local water fall just outside of Raglan. On the way there, we came across a local Sheep Farmer named Trevor. We only stopped to take a few photos, but before you know it, we were helping Trevor herd the sheep to the next field. I must say that it was pretty amazing to watch his Sheep herding dogs in action. Trevor headed up the street to lead the pack of sheep, while the dogs and we (in our van) were on the tail end. Eddie also got to open the gate and let the pack out. You will notice in some of the pictures where there are sheep jumping over Eddie! New Zealand has a population of about 3.5 million people and 55 million sheep. Quoting our friend Mike Bartlett, “New Zealand is the land where women are men, men are animals, and the sheep are SCARED!”

The rest of the pictures are from Bridal Falls. Once we got to the bottom of the falls, it started pouring cats and dogs! Or should we say it started pouring sheep! The journey continues….
