June 15th, 2005 - Driving To The Whitsundays

Well, the weather has been cold and raining so we are heading north. We checked the internet and there is warm weather about 1300 kilometers north from Brisbane. The unfortunate thing is that there are no waves in that area. On the positive side, this is where the Great Barrier Reef is located. I definitely did want to see this area but it was always so hard to leave the surf. I guess it just would right if I was in Australia and didn't see the Reef. Below are just a few pics from the long drive. This Northern region of Australia is tropical. There are lots of sugar cane plantations in the area as you can see in the pics. Should be at the Whitsundays by tomorrow! The journey continues......
