July 1st, 2005 - Nadi, Fiji

Hey everyone, finally got some internet connection here so trying to post some updates on the web. Need to make it quick or I will miss my bus back to nowhere! To the boat out for a surf today and it was pretty much crap. Blown out and small. The wind has been blowing so hard for the past several days making it impossible to surf. About the only place that has had any surfable waves has been Cloud Breaks, and you have to stay at Tavarua in order to surf there. The are fully booked for the year. We are going to be able to surf there tomorrow (Saturday) which is when they allow 14 surfers max their because guests are leaving and coming on that day. Hopefully we will get some surf!

After getting no surf today, I decided to take the local bus into the town of Nadi with Mike. It was a pretty interesting experience being packed on a bus with all the locals. Besides Fijian people living here, there are also lots of people from India. Most of the Fijian people are very nice and friendly, not sure about the Indian's??? They seem to be a little more serious and just focused on money. We ended up cruising around town and even visited the local outdoor market. Got some classic shots to share below.
