July 8th, 2005 - Leaving Mana Island, Fiji

Well, the time has come to part ways with my new friends. Ac & Robin are headed back to Australia, Hal & Caroline have one more night on Mana Island, and I am headed back to Seashell to meet up with Tony. I am pretty much just going back to Seashell so that I can surf Cloud Breaks tomorrow. Hopefully I'll end my Fiji trip with some good waves!

It's definitely been great past couple of days with my new friends. Robin had me laughing non stop. In order for you to understand some of the pictures below, I have to explain a few things.

Fiji Time = Not on time! If they say 1pm, they really mean closer to 1:30 - 2pm. This was an ongoing joke since day one. The Fijians even tell you that it's Fiji Time.

12.5% - On Mana Island, if you charge your bill on a credit card, they add an extra 12.5%. So every time that they messed up on something, we would tell them that we were deducting 12.5% as a joke.

Fiji Bitter: Local Fijian Beer. There marketing slogan is that “It’s the Sportsman’s Beer!" Robin and I had a good time with this one. I think you really had to be here to understand!
