July 20, 2005 - My New Home In Bali

Note: Because internet connections in Bali are so slow, I now have to limit the amount of photos I post. I also have to compress the photos so much that the quality is not the greatest.

It's not the Ritz, but it is definitely cheap! I am calling this home for at least the next month or so. Managed to find this hotel in Kuta where I am paying $4.00 US per night. It's just a basic room with a fan and hot water. As you will see in the pics below, it's not too bad for the price. The hotel grounds are nice are there is even a decent pool. I am planning on traveling around but because it is so cheap I will most likely just keep the room so that I can store some stuff.

As far as transportation is concerned, my friend "Made" who is Balinese is letting me borrow his motorbike for free. I just had to fix the lights and buy a surf board rack for it. Now I am pretty much starting to feel somewhat grounded compared to the last 6 months of living out of a van. I even managed to have some good sushi at one of my favorite places in Bali. The journey continues
