August 10th, 2005 – End Of The Boat Trip

Note: Because internet connections in Bali are so slow, I have to limit the amount of photos I post. I also have to compress the photos so much that the quality is not the greatest.

We pulled up to Desert Point this morning to find two more surf boats and crap for waves. It’s a bummer that we didn’t catch this place going off because it’s considered to be one of the best waves when it’s on! The time has come to call it “The End” of the trip.

Even though we didn’t get the best of waves, it was still a great experience. Saw lots of new places that I had never seen before in Indonesia. Definitely a change from the fast pace in Bali. The people you are on a boat with can also make or break your trip. Fortunately, everyone was great including the Indonesian crew. It was pretty much nonstop laughter the whole trip. Everyone also got nicknames throughout the journey. I can’t even begin to put into words some of the things that went on as far joking with the crew. You really had to be there! One of the funiest things was when the waves were small the crew would always being yelling “Flat Tire”, but really rolling the R (Like Flat Tire rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). It was pretty classic with their accents. Below are just a few silly pics from the last day with the boys.

When I think back at some of the things that I have seen on my trip, it really makes me appreciate my life, my health and how lucky I am to be on such a journey. Most of us are so fortunate compared to other people in the world that we often tend to forget at times. Enjoy your life to the fullest, appreciate what you have, and live everyday like it’s your last. Life is short……
