Note: Because internet connections in Bali are so slow, I have to limit the amount of photos I post. I also have to compress the photos so much that the quality is not the greatest.
Today Nici and I took a little road trip along the East coast of Bali inland towards the mountains. Sharon and Alexis decided to stay back in Kuta and make it beach/shopping day. The Besakih Temple is considered to be the “Mother Temple” of Bali. It is also the largest temple in Bali. We started our trip today by driving along the coastline which was absolutely beautiful. Lot’s of green rice fields on one side while the ocean on our other side. As we drove inland from the coast we passed so many small villages that had absolutely NO tourist. It was the true Bali, nothing but local people doing their daily routine. When we got to the temple it turned out to be one of the most religious days of the year. It was a great experience to see all of the Balinese people dressed in their traditional outfits with all of the colorful offerings for the gods. Well, I am pressed for time at the moment so enjoy the pics. Got to run…. The journey continues.
