Day 7 – Boat Trip
This morning we pulled up to a spot called Lance’s left. The surf was about chest to head high in the morning and just super fun. By mid afternoon signs of a new swell were starting to show with some overhead waves pumping through. We ended up surfing three long sessions today! By the evening session there were plenty of bombs coming through. It was just another epic surf session. We all just had so many great waves today. Still can’t get over how many unreal surf spots there are in the Mentawais. As far as the pics below, some are not the best of quality. Every time I hand my camera to someone to take surf photos they end up changing the settings by accident and then the photos look like crap! The crew from our boat has also been taking some photos which we will have to buy at the end of our trip. So I won’t be able to post those till the last day!
A quick update on the cockroach situation. Last night I walked into my room and when I turned on the light there must have been about 15 – 20 roaches on my bed. I was so tired and I really just couldn’t get over it mentally thinking about roaches crawling on me while I sleep. So then I thought about sleeping outside on the deck, but then remembered about the Malaria carrying mosquitoes in the area. So to bed with the roaches it was! The journey continues…….
