We took a few days off and headed over to the Island of Lombok, Indonesia. The original plan was to take our car across on the ferry. We ended up leaving the car because the Police here are so corrupt that they wanted too much money for no reason to get our car on the ferry. So we refused to contribute to their additional way of income. Once in Lombok, we got a ride to the town of Kuta then rented a motorbike to get around. We did pick up another traveler on the ferry named Sandra (from Austria) who ended up spending a few days with us. The trip to Lombok was great! Lombok is so primitive and poor compared to Bali. It is like what Bali used to be 25 years ago. The majority of the people in Lombok are Muslim which is a totally different vibe from the Hindu’s in Bali. For the most part, everything was ok and we did meet many nice locals. I will say that some of the locals were very aggressive at times when trying to get money out of you. Which pretty much everyone wants sometime from you! As far as the surf, I did get a few days of good surf. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pics of the good days as well as I did have my zoom lens with me. Nici did come out on the boat with me one day and shot a few pics but they are pretty far away! Well, got to run… Enjoy the pics…
