Eddie decided I had to pay some dues for buzzing me around on the back of the Tiger. So here’s my take on the last few days. The waves have been fun. Bingin was shacking and Impossibles threw out some fun racy lefts along with a barrel here and there. We tried to get up early to surf the reefs of Kuta for about 3 days, but kept hitting snooze until yesterday morning. Six am and I was hassled out of bed by Eddie shouting at me to “Get up” before he yelled at Juan and Rasky (a.ka. Ping and Pong- sort of the Puertorican version of Cheech and Chong) to wake up after they had been out until 3am drinking Arak Atac. Arak is the Bali equivalent of moonshine. Rasky’s eyes popped open bulging out dazed and confused. I guess the Arak really attacked him. Boards bungied on the bikes, we cruised over to catch a boat ride out to Middles (Outer Reef Break at Kuta Beach) . This was Ping and Pong’s version of an Indo boat trip. We took some water footage of the waves. Eddie almost took Juan’s head off on one. All I could hear was Juan’s Spanish shriek. When I looked back I saw him paddling way over in the channel. After about an hour we were cold. My teeth were chattering at one point and I huddled down inside the narrow boat to hide from the wind. Rasky bailed out on us earlier. He was making some of his unusually funny faces and had wiped out on all of his waves. Juan and Rasky have definitely added some riotous laughter to our days and nights. Watching them trying to follow us into Kuta on their scooter was hilarious. Rasky‘s face was white with fear, eyes bulged out, and his skinny arms were shaking all over the place while he was trying to weave in and out of the chaos. In an interview after Juan’s turn driving, he said his heart was beating so fast he thought he was going to have a heart attack. We thought it would be funny to film them on their crazy adventure into Kuta. That night while eating sushi and watching the video we laughed so hard we couldn’t even talk. Some video footage will posted soon of Juan and Rasky’s loco adventures. It’s been non-stop comedy with them around. You might even get a few laughs from the pics below.
