July 27, 2007 - Finally Arriving In Rote, West Timor

It’s been a long two days trying to get here, but the mission has been accomplished. We had so many delays with the airlines, that is was getting to the point where we were thinking of blowing off this trip! We arrived in Kupang, West Timor pretty late at night (and it's a nasty town). Took a while to get some transport organized, and took even longer to find a hotel for the night. We must have stopped at about 8 hotels before we could find one that wasn’t full. We are just in Kupang for one night; tomorrow we will take a Ferry to the small Island of Rote. Which once we arrive there we must travel a few hour to a small town called Nembrala, which is our final destination.

Below are a few pics from today’s journey! I just took a bunch of pics as we traveled through Rote headed to Nembrala. We are here now, and it’s a pretty killer place! Very primitive, very beautiful, very relaxed, and best of all we scored some good surf today with no crowds! The journey continues…..
